A new Out Of Town Films’ session just went up with Quilt. We filmed it in their friend’s backyard in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. I hope you enjoy.
Quilt “Gome Home” - Philadelphia, PA - 07/01/2012
As we were driving over to this shoot, it kind of reminded us of our time hanging out and shooting with Sun Hotel in Austin, TX for SXSW. It was an early Saturday morning on the first of July and we were hazily en route, iced-coffee in hand, to Quilt’s friend’s house to do the shoot. They had informed us that they had something really special planned.
The Massachusetts band had just opened for Young Magic the night before at Johnny Brenda’s and were crashing at local musician, Daniel Bachman’s house in Fishtown. We had to do it in the morning because they had to be in Boston that night for their hometown show. When we arrived, the trio, along with Bachman on electric, were already set up in the backyard.
Quilt performed a version of “Gome Home,” which was the closer on their self-titled debut. Normally the track is a slow-burning folk tune with minimal vocals, and for their backyard performance, they stayed true to that. However, Bachman’s added reverb and smooth electric guitar fit in quite smoothly to give “Gome Home” a new personality. Enjoy.
