1. A new Out Of Town Films session went up earlier this afternoon with my friends from New Orleans, Caddywhompus. Enjoy.

    Caddywhompus “Company” - Philadelphia, PA - 04/06/2012

This session was filmed late in the night, like 3:30am late. I guess you could say it was filmed really early in the morning. Anyway, Caddywhompus, a New Orleans duo, who play some crazy-math rock type stuff, had just played a show in the basement of a North Philadelphia row home. The show was actually cut short because some really drunk college kid fell down the stairs and busted open his head. People thought he was dead but the paramedics came to the rescue. Fortunately, Caddywhompus had already played so they were able to play a full set.

After all the chaos, the guys retreated back to West Philadelphia where they were staying with a few friends. Their friends just so happened to be throwing a party, which meant shots of whiskey and beer the moment they walked in the door. So that delayed the session even further until finally they snuck off to a room full of junk, which was the designated guest room. This is what came of that 3:30 am session, where they played an acoustic version of “Company”. Enjoy.

  2. I shot a bunch of photographs at the The Kensington Kinetic Sculpture on Saturday. These are a few of my favorite photos from the day and a bunch more can be found on Phrequency. - Philadelphia, PA - 05/19/2012

  3. I photographed Jay-Z paparazzi style when he was at the Art Museum in Philadelphia the other day. More photos can be found on Phrequency. - Philadelphia, PA - 05/14/2012

  4. Today I had an assignment to photograph a three year old little girl named Emma. She had a pretty serious surgery last month and the newspaper I work for was featuring her family for an upcoming fundraiser they’re going to have to help with the medical bills.

Despite the surgery and the various daily medical things she has to endure, Emma was so happy to just play outside. That’s all she wanted to do. It made me happy and love what I get to do for a living.

The photo above is an outtake of the shoot I did with her and her mother. I hope it makes you smile, too. - Aston, PA - 05/16/2012

  5. Here’s a new Out Of Town Film session I shot a few weeks ago with We Were Promised Jetpacks at Union Transfer. Enjoy.

We Were Promised Jetpacks “Medicine” - Philadelphia, PA - 05/05/2012

Driving down the highway at a speed perhaps too fast for my own good, I raced to get myself to Union Transfer to meet up with Adam Thompson, vocalist and guitarist for We Were Promised Jet Packs. I had gotten out late from work, which then left us under a time crunch to get the film wrapped before doors.

Upon arrival, we quickly searched for a location backstage to shoot the session, ultimately finding ourselves in the same small, red office room we had started. Adam played a lovely rendition of “Medicine,” off of their most recent album, In The Pit Of The Stomach. Enjoy.

  6. I met this gentleman as I was walking to meet my friend for brunch the other day. His name is Desmond Neligan. He’s from County Cork, Ireland, but he has been living in the states for quite a while now. We ended up chatting about his music tastes when he was younger. He grew up listening to Duran Duran, The Cure, and U2(before they even made it out of Ireland).  - Philadelphia, PA - 05/11/2012

  7. Mira - Philadelphia, PA - 05/11/2012

  8. I graduated from Temple University last week. It feels good to be able to say that. Graduation was a very inspiring moment. Just knowing that I can finally put my full attention towards my life endeavors, and not some class, is a very empowering feeling. I’m excited for what lies ahead. - Philadelphia, PA - 05/10/2012

  9. Last week I went to Kung Fu Necktie to shoot an Out Of Town Films session with Norwegian Arms, but we had to wait a few hours to do the shoot because Eve was performing inside. It was one of those “Life is funny” moments. - Philadelphia, PA - 05/09/2012

  10. This session makes me happy. Great new band, great music and very cool dudes. Enjoy.

Bright Moments “Travelers” - Philadelphia, PA - 05/02/2012

When I first walked into Kung Fu Necktie, the guys in Bright Moments were hunched over an electronic poker game while Kelly Pratt, the mastermind of the group, was hustling his band-mate, Jared Van Fleet. There was a lot on the line… a whole five dollars. Van Fleet decided to push the button and move ‘All-in’. He had nothing and once the rest of the cards were laid out, he still had nothing. Pratt took the pot and was riding high on his birthday.

Kelly  has quite the resume. He has played on most of Beirut’s records, he has been a crucial part of their touring band, he also provided various horns for Arcade Fire’s ‘Neon Bible’ and he was part of LCD Soundsystem’s horn section in their last days. Not too many people can they have done all that.

In this session, he and his band-mates played us a fantastic version of “Travelers” upstairs at Kung Fu Necktie. Enjoy.

Oh, and for the record, Kelly nailed that eight ball shot on his first try.
